Last night was the 2009 Costume Institute Gala Benefit at the Met so I thought I would share a couple of the pics of what people were wearing..
I'm never going to pass on the opportunity to share a pic of Tom Brady - he's just so dreamy! Gisele wore Versace and was on trend with wearing a short dress for this event, which Marc Jacobs encouraged by saying "it's kind of young, and kind of clubby."
Anne Hathaway wore an eggplant Marc Jacobs - a color that was hot last fall and looks like it will be popular again this autumn.
Donatella Versace and Cindy Crawford demonstrated the neon colors that are in right now - although personally I may limit these 80's colors to accessories only.
Kate Moss wore this Marc Jacobs dress. I love a little metallic, and her shoes are awesome, but I can't ever imagine adding a metallic turban to my outfit.
The event celebrated the opening of "The Model as a Muse: Embodying Fashion" which opens at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 6th. The exhibit recognizes how much models are responsible for adding to the allure of some fashions.
It features 86 looks arranged mostly by era and combines multiple media forms. The following pictures are a peek at the exhibit.
Giorgio di Sant'Angelo dresses.
Anna Sui ensembles depicting the grunge era and how that changed the ideas in modeling.
John Galliano's designs commemorating Christian Dior's 60th anniversary bring to life Loomis Dean's photograph.
I can't wait to check out the exhibit!!
