Because it's one soft shade, it never feels too pink. It's the perfect color! I love that the grey painting adds such a feeling of sophistication.

The Rules

According to my favorite movie, Mean Girls, girl world has a lot rules. You can't wear a tank top two days in a row and you can only wear your hair in a ponytail once a week. Oh, and we only wear jeans or track pants on Fridays. Now, if you break any of these rules, you can't sit with us at lunch.

And of course, we wear pink on Wednesdays!! This is of course my favorite because I love pink, so here are my fave pink finds this week.
This ottoman is such a gorgeous pop of color in this room!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink!

I hope you all were lucky enough to watch Mean Girls this past weekend - it was on tv at least twice, I know because I watched it twice!!


Here are a few of the pink things I'm loving this week!I'm loving the sophisticated but feminine combo in this room. The grapefruit color of the "Love" print pairs so nicely with the fuschia. It also makes me think -- do I need to get one of those mirrored dressers? It looks so pretty! This yellow and pink combo makes me think of pink lemonade!
I'm loving the girly update to these Adirondack chairs! Looks like such a fun party they'll be having.

On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink!

So, I've decided that I want to post something pink every Wednesday. It's partly because pink is my favorite color, but mostly because I'm afraid of Gretchen Weiners yelling "You can't sit with us!" (If you need help understanding this movie reference, see my first We Wear Pink on Wednesdays post Here!)
It's particularly appropriate for today because Jonathan Adler is responsible for this room too!

It's Like Rainbow Sherbert

I love rainbow sherbert in the summer.... and these fruity, fun rooms also seem appropriate as the weather gets warmer.

I just love how white furniture pops off of the bright walls!

I like mine with rainbow sprinkles too!

On Wednesdays, we wear pink.

I'm not even embarrassed to admit it, but Mean Girls is still my favorite movie. It's the only movie that I have gone at 12:00 am to purchase the night it came out on DVD, and might I add, TOTALLY worth it! So I figured, why not have a little Mean Girls fun with a pink themed Wednesday!
This room has been one of my Domino faves for a while. As much as I love pink, I know that it can scream girly pretty quickly, so I tend not to use it when decorating. But I think this room does it perfectly. Balanced by the white furniture and the rough would floor, pink feels feminine but sophisticated. This one's pretty bright!! but still a lot of fun!

I just love these two staircases!!! Painting them pink is just so fun and silly, and why not have something in your house that just makes you smile?!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It's gross and rainy here today, and I'd really like to stay inside and read a new issue of Domino.. but that's not going to happen, I thought I'd go through some of my old Domino faves..


Pink is my favorite color, but I try not to use it too much in decorating because I'm afraid of making a space feel too girly. But they really nail it in this room! It's just the right shade and with all of the white, it keeps it feeling sophisticated.
I'd kill to have that many windows! I love the simple black and white color scheme - keeps a lot of the focus on the amazing windows.
Animal hide rugs.. love it love it. (I JUST found out that my brother's co-worker grew up on a beef cattle ranch.. and now I want to know if I can get a deal on a cow hide rug!)Lime and turquoise accents - so hot right now!

I love the casual cafe seats here.

And for this dining space, I love the cushioned chairs. Who says you have to have standard "dining room" chairs?! The table here was a coffee table that's been heightened with longer legs - I love that it breaks the rules of standard table height.
