White chairs please!

As I'm sure some of you do too, I keep inspiration files. I'm usually all over the place with styles, colors, themes... I mean really, sometimes I wonder if I have multiple personalities the way some of my "favorite" rooms are so extremely different!

But for some reason with dining rooms I have one specific type. Had you asked me a few months ago what kind of dining rooms I liked, I don't know that I could have even told you. It just happened that I was repeatedly drawn to modern white chairs paired with a dark antique table. Certainly all of the light, the detailed ceiling and gorgeous bookshelves help to set the scene in this room, but I love the contrast of the sleek white chairs against the worn in wood of the table. I also love this table too and I laughed when I realized how similar it is to then one above it. I literally had to flip between the 2 several times before confirming that in fact they were NOT the same table just shot at different ends. These covered chairs are also really nice too! I like the slight French flair here.

This table only cost $30! It was purchased as part of a renovation done by Angela at The Painted House. I love pretty and cheap!
I really took a step out here --- a round table!

But isn't it funny how similar they really all are?!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It's gross and rainy here today, and I'd really like to stay inside and read a new issue of Domino.. but that's not going to happen, I thought I'd go through some of my old Domino faves..


Pink is my favorite color, but I try not to use it too much in decorating because I'm afraid of making a space feel too girly. But they really nail it in this room! It's just the right shade and with all of the white, it keeps it feeling sophisticated.
I'd kill to have that many windows! I love the simple black and white color scheme - keeps a lot of the focus on the amazing windows.
Animal hide rugs.. love it love it. (I JUST found out that my brother's co-worker grew up on a beef cattle ranch.. and now I want to know if I can get a deal on a cow hide rug!)Lime and turquoise accents - so hot right now!

I love the casual cafe seats here.

And for this dining space, I love the cushioned chairs. Who says you have to have standard "dining room" chairs?! The table here was a coffee table that's been heightened with longer legs - I love that it breaks the rules of standard table height.
